A masala dosa is made by stuffing a dosa with a lightly cooked filling of potatoes, fried onions and spices. The dosa is wrapped around an onion and potato curry or sabji. It is listed as number 49 on World's 50 most delicious foods complied by CNN Go in 2011. It is also cited as top ten tasty foods of the world (2012).

"Shaghun is the Sansnkrit word meaning Good Time for any auspicious occasion. In North India it means the GIFTS you give on important life occasions like marriage, birth, engagement, etc.

Shaghun can refer to a period of time, as its meaning can be interpreted as 'time is good'. On the opening of a shop the first sale is called as Shaghun.

インド北部では、この言葉は結婚、子供の誕生、婚約などの お祝いごとの際に贈る「贈り物」という意味になります。 「Shaghun」は、期間・時期について言及する時に使われ、 「時期としてちょうどよい」というふうに解釈できます。 新しくお店を開いた時の初売りを「Shaghun」と言ったりもします。 さまざまなよい意味を持つ言葉です。
